Good morning!
Well, first things first. I told you I would explain about Shrimpfest a little bit more in this morning’s post, so I’m here to give you the low down. Shrimpfest is a two weekend festival in Centrailia, MO, the hometown of one of my beautiful best friends; Megan!!!

Well, it’s basically a huge dinner complete with shrimp cocktail, fried shrimp, shrimp scampi, hush puppies, salad, some kind of potatoes and dessert. This is on top of an open bar, live band and an auction that goes on all night!! The whole town goes, and it’s such a great time. Each year my group of friends and I go to help Megan’s family out by working as servers for the first weekend of it and I think I speak for all of us when I say that it’s the weekend that we look forward to the most throughout the year. Even more than Christmas!!

T minus 3 days until Shrimpfest 2011!!!!
Now, onto today! It’s actually not going to be quite as packed as yesterday. Still a lot to do, but I’m trying to focus on worrying about less, and enjoying more. It’s a little difficult when I get completely overwhelmed like I did yesterday. I just need to keep a calm head, a smile on my face and prayers in my heart. I find that constantly reminding myself of how blessed I am and just how many things I have to be thankful for keeps me grounded and a lot more at peace with myself these days.
Today I am thankful for:
-The sun shining through my window this morning
-All of my beautiful, crazy and just plain wonderful friends who I get to see this weekend
-A voicemail that Matt left me last night. I fell asleep laughing. Perfect end to the day. :)
-My family
-The delicious batch of overnight oats that were waiting for me in the fridge this morning!
