The Smorgasbord Song

Good morning from a snowy Centrailia! :)

I never thought I would follow any statement about snow with a smiley face, but being here with such wonderful people just makes the snow a little more bearable than usual. The big ol’ cup of coffee that I’m sipping on as I write this is definitely doesn’t hurt either. Good friends, great memories and coffee are all you need in life, right? :)

Well, after Hilliary arrived in Warrensburg yesterday, we chatted for a little bit in my room before loading up the car and headed to lunch. It seems like the turnover rate for Mexican restaurants in Warrensburg is at an all time high, which means that our list of places we want to try has been expanding, so we went for it! We tried a new restaurant called Cancun and it was delicious. There wasn’t much cheese at all in my quesadilla, but I got over it because the complimentary chips and salsa were to die for. I NEVER ever crave chips. It’s weird, I know, but chips just aren’t something that I’m crazy about. However, the warm tortilla chips at Mexican restaurants suck me in EVERY SINGLE TIME. Yum. We enjoyed lunch and catching up, ran a few errands, grabbed Ash and then hit the road!

Once we arrived in Centrailia, we enjoyed quite the smorgasbord of food for dinner including: homemade chili, potato soup, chicken fajita soup, a few different dips, veggies and cowboy salsa. For any of you who don’t know what cowboy salsa is, I will take a picture today when it makes it’s second appearance because it’s delicious! It’s a mixture of black eyed peas, avocado, tomato, yellow and white corn, cilantro, red wine vinegar, garlic and jalapenos. Yum, yum!!! The rest of the night was spent visiting with friends, finishing up homework and engaging in a little reading party before bed haha.

*Let me also mention that while I was typing and trying to figure out how to spell smorgasbord, Hilliary began singing some song from Charlotte’s web about a smorgasbord and now it’s in everyone’s heads.
