Well, for starters, my name is Susan and I’m a 21 year old student at the University of Central Missouri. I’m graduating in May (fingers crossed!) with a BS in Child and Family Development, which I am so excited about. More so about graduating though than the degree, because I’m not entirely sure what my next step will be. That’s probably the next thing I should tell you about myself. I am terribly indecisive, but it usually leads me into the coolest adventures, and I thrive on adventure, so it all works out great! At school, I work as a 3rd year community advisor in the dorms, which to most of you is the the same concept as an RA. Just a different name! The staff is great each year and the residents are a blast to get to know!
Aside from school, there are a ton of other things that make up who I am! My family and friends are probably the biggest influence in my life and I love them all more than they will ever know. As far as family, I have on one side, my mom, Bob (stepdad), my sister Kayla and my stepbrother Zach. On the other side there is my Dad, Jen (stepmom), and my little brothers, Jake and Wil. They are all so wonderful and give me so much joy each day, even when I don’t get to see them.
I have been SO blessed to have as many friends as I do and they literally keep me sane most of the time. (We all have our moments) :)
Along with all of these friends, there are more, and they come from all over the country (but mostly New York!). For the past three summers, I have worked at Camp Pinnacle in Voorheesville, NY and it is absolutely my favorite place in the entire world. There are no right words to describe just how perfect of a place it is. :)
Some other things about me that may, or may not, spark your interest are that I am very into the whole idea of healthy living. I believe that it encompasses so much more than just diet and exercise and the whole focus of this blog is to elaborate on all of the aspects of it, while showing you a little bit about myself as well through my day to day posts! I love food. Point blank. I love coming up with new ways to cook it (I’m not that great of a chef, but I am definitely working on it!) and present it and eat it! I also LOVE LOVE LOVE working out in any form. It could be a 5 mile run in the morning, a kickboxing or boot camp class at the gym, circuit training, playing sports, or even just taking a walk late at night. Any kind of exercise gets me pumped up and I truly believe that everyone should aim for exercise each day! :) Aside from healthy eating and exercising, I LOVE to bake sweets and eat copious amounts of ice cream. Now I have to be honest, my sister is an incredible baker and I am still learning a lot from her, but when we get together, oh man can we create some insanely good treats!
That’s pretty much all about me, I think. A crazy, happy hippie who loves life and all of the beautiful things that make up each day!
